The Same

"Once the game is over, the King and the pawn go back in the same box." Italian Proverb

I used to be intimadated by people in power - professionals who held some level of authority. I used to think I was inferior to them....that they were somehow better than me and carried all the answers.

I don't believe that anymore. I've learned that we're all made of the same stuff. It's not about whether or not we have a degree.......or hold a position of power......or even work in a factory.....everyone's just trying to live out their best lives.

And I've discovered people are nice or not simply because of the make-up of who they are.....not because of any position they might hold. It's those people who smile at the little guy....and hold the door open for them that's the best. Kindness outweighs power and authority.

Those are the people who taught me to live my best life....and to give back what's been given to me. They're the ones who showed me a softer more gentle way of being in the world.

There are amazing people everywhere.....people who are bright lights shining compassion....they stand out as a reminder that whoever we are....whatever we do.....each of us is worth the same.

Wow! God is truly speaking to my heart this morning. I am being filled with His encouragement through friends' posts. You know my battle against those people in higher positions...Power...that's it! It is their choice to either use that wisely or with ill intentions.

That quote hit me! I was imagining the chess board as the Lord's court. "Nothing is hidden from His sight whether we are a King or just that pawn.."

God bless sister and may you have a wonderful week ahead! Breathe!!! :)

Hi sweet Sarah,
Yes!! I agree with you in that sense. I felt intimidated as well.
I used to think in the same way that I was inferior towards the ones who held power or authority.
I no longer feel overwhelmed by anyone, thanks the power of the Lord working in my heart.
By the way, have a Happy Valentine's Day with those you love, sweet Sarah!!
Thank you for visiting my site, sweetheart!! I hope you do it more often. Tomorrow, I shall post a lovely song dedicated to Tennessee, if you wish to glance at it. Today, I posted a good positive thought.

So True! My Dad used to say that too. I used to get very intimidated by people in authority, but that only gave some the license to take advantage of it.
Great post!
Blessings, Joanne

PSALM 23

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD,
That's Relationship!

I shall not want,
This supply is!

MAKE ME WALK IN GREEN PASTURES,
This is rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters,
This is refreshing!

He restores my soul,
This is healing!

GUIDE ME FOR THE PATHS OF JUSTICE,
That's Guidance!

FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR NAME,
This is on purpose!

THOUGH I WALK THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH,
That's Testing!

I will fear no evil,
That's Protection!

Thou art with me,
That is fidelity!

YOUR STICK AND YOUR staff they comfort me,
This is discipline!

Prepare a table before ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES,
This is hope!

UNGE MY HEAD WITH OIL
That's Consecration!

And my cup runneth over,
That's Abundance!

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY A follow me EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE,
This is a blessing!

AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
That's Security!

FOR LONG DAYS,
This is eternity!

May the Lord bless you and keep you!

We're all equal in God's eyes. Thanks for sharing this message. God doesn't care about your status at work, He only wants you to accept Him.

Wonderful blog post! I've often found that if a person is happy, he/she is usually a nice person.

I'm sure there are nice people who are NOT happy, but, overall, I feel that most people who are happy are just nice people, overall.

I hope you have a blessed day.

If more people understood this, I think they would be happier people.

Hi Sarah,
God is no respector of persons, and I love the diversity of His creation. Why should anyone be anyone other than one's self, there is no fooling God, and now that I am born again, I want to be what He is making me to be in Jesus.
